Taylor\u2019s video has racked up several million views, and TikTok users have been scouring their apartments to find rooms that fit the trend.<\/p>\n<p>Many of Taylor&#8217;s colleagues say she&#8217;s not doing anything new: designer Kishani Perera, for example, says that pops of color against neutrals are a &#8220;theory,&#8221; much less a new one, and are a classic that&#8217;s been around for centuries.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it works. &#8220;From Taylor Swift&#8217;s signature red lipstick to this trend in homes, red has always been a statement color,&#8221; says Carolyn Ames Noble, former chair of the board of the American Society of Interior Designers.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Add a red teapot, cooking utensils or even a bold splashback to your kitchen. Baking tins and small appliances, like a toaster or kettle, aren&#8217;t too expensive, so you don&#8217;t have to spend a lot of money to experiment,&#8221; says interior designer Kerry Kelly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Window treatments and curtains have a huge impact on how we perceive a space. Start simple &#8211; change the curtains in the room.
