The co-writer of Kim Jennie’s hit “Like Jennie”, producer Jaxxtone, found himself at the center of a scandal after making a harsh and provocative statement about Twice, one of South Korea’s most popular girl groups.<\/p>\n
The conflict was sparked by a discussion on social media about the similarities between the sound of “Like Jennie” and the teaser for Twice’s upcoming album. Some fans claimed that both tracks used a similar sample. One X (former Twitter) user noted: “Jennie used a sample – this is not her music.” It was under this post that producer Jaxxtone unexpectedly burst in with a cheeky response: “I made Like Jennie, who is TWICE anyway, lol.”<\/p>\n

The reaction was not long in coming. Twice fandom \u2014 ONCEs \u2014 perceived the comment as an insult not only to the group, but also to everyone who stands behind its success. Blackpink fans also expressed support for the members: they fear that the producer\u2019s harsh tone could affect Jennie\u2019s reputation. At the time of publication of the material, no statements were made by Jaxxtone.<\/p>\n
One of the users directly wrote: \u201cYou could have just corrected the author, and not made a shade.\u201d Another added: \u201cThis post is completely inappropriate and unprofessional, it just provokes an attack on the group. We demand respect for the artists.\u201d While the discussion was gaining momentum, the tweet with the insult was deleted, and Jaxxtone\u2019s account went into private mode.
